My Background

As someone who has faced personal challenges, I am passionate about helping others overcome their own obstacles too. I know how overwhelming it can be to confront life’s difficulties, and I believe that no one should have to manage alone. I learned first hand how amazing the counselling process can be. That’s why I trained to become a counsellor, to have the privilege of helping others too. Sometimes we all just need a little extra support to navigate through the tough times.

My experience in mental health extends beyond the counselling field, with over 10 years experience as a Social Worker, I have developed extensive expertise in supporting individuals facing various challenges. One of the core aspects of my social work experience has been my ability to build strong, trusting relationships with clients. I have experience of working with people when they feel most vulnerable, to listen deeply, ask the right questions, and create a space for individuals to express themselves. The ability to connect on a personal level is crucial in counselling, where the therapeutic relationship is the cornerstone of effective intervention and support.

My background has instilled in me a deep commitment to supporting individuals in their journey towards healing and personal growth.

What I offer

In a world that never seems to slow down, it’s all too easy to lose sight of our own needs. Yet, by setting time aside for yourself, we can rediscover what is important to you and place value on your personal growth and well-being.

Counselling is a talking therapy that can help individuals make better sense of what’s happening in their lives. It’s a journey unique to you, where the counsellor accompanies the client through difficult thoughts and emotions, to help them arrive at a happier and empowered place in their life.

My approach is integrative with a person- centred focus, which means that you are at the heart of what we do, our sessions are all about you, my client. I recognise that you are the expert in your own life. During our work together I will draw on various therapeutic modalities to meet your unique needs and goals. These approaches may include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Gestalt, Psychodynamic, Transactional Analysis and Mindfulness. I recognise that talking is not always a good fit for everyone, therefore I also work creatively with clients to encourage them to express themselves.

People seek out counselling for various reasons, including managing anxiety and depression, improving relationships, processing grief, dealing with trauma, exploring life transitions, or to gain support during life’s challenges. Whatever brings you here, I am here to offer support tailored to your specific needs.

Together, we will work to uncover the root causes of your struggles, develop effective coping strategies, and foster a greater sense of self – awareness. My aim is to help you feel heard, and to build the skills and resilience needed to navigate life’s challenges with confidence and strength.

I work with clients on a wide range of issues including, but not limited to:

  • Abuse

  • Addiction

  • Anger
